DVA Counselling and Psychology Services
DVA-Funded Psychology and Mental Health Support
Aresolution Psychology provides DVA-funded counselling and psychology services for eligible veterans, current and former Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel, and members of the veteran community.
Our psychologists provide evidence-based treatment for a wide range of mental health concerns including PTSD, trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, sleep difficulties, chronic pain, anger, grief, adjustment challenges, and relationship concerns.
If you have a valid Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) referral, your psychology appointments may be fully funded with no out-of-pocket costs.
Experienced Support for Veterans and Defence Personnel
Our psychologists have experience working with veterans, former Defence personnel, first responders, and individuals who have worked in high-pressure operational environments.
We understand the unique demands of military culture, including:
- Exposure to traumatic or high-risk events
- Long periods of operational stress
- Transition from military to civilian life
- Loss of identity and purpose following discharge
- Moral injury and cumulative occupational stress
- The impact of service-related injuries and chronic pain
- Difficulties reconnecting with family and relationships after service
Many veterans continue to function at a high level while carrying significant stress, trauma, anxiety, or emotional burden. Seeking support is not a sign of weakness—it is often an important step towards restoring wellbeing, resilience, and quality of life.

- The biological and psychological impacts of prolonged exposure to stress
- Practical strategies for improving emotional regulation and resilience
Treatment is tailored to the individual and may include:
- Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
- Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills
- Trauma-focused therapies
- Mindfulness and emotional regulation strategies
- Somatic and body-based approaches where appropriate
Our goal is to help clients improve wellbeing, strengthen coping skills, and create meaningful change in everyday life.
