About Andrew

Dr Andrew Stock is an experienced Psychologist who has been practicing for a decade. Born and raised in Perth, Andrew’s professional journey has spanned both Australia and international markets. He spent several years practicing in Hong Kong—where he was endorsed as a Clinical Psychologist—before returning to Perth to join the Aresolution team.

Andrew holds a Master’s and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University. His diverse career began in correctional services, working with inmates and their families to navigate complex dynamics and systemic challenges.

With over 10 years of experience, Andrew is dedicated to helping individuals, families, and young people navigate the complexities of mental health with authenticity, transparency, and deep clinical insight.

Therapeutic Approach

Andrew utilises a process-based therapy framework, mindfully integrating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with Family Therapy. This approach allows him to provide highly specific, well-informed treatment that addresses the unhealthy underlying processes contributing to a client’s distress.

Andrew believes that lasting change comes from within. He strives to honour the capacity of every client to reach self-actualisation and healthy living. He is particularly known for his systemic and contextual approach—viewing an individual’s challenges within the broader lens of their environment—which is especially effective when working with children, adolescents, and vulnerable populations.

Areas of Expertise

Andrew works with adults, adolescents, and families across a broad spectrum of needs, including:

  • Mood & Emotional Wellbeing: Anxiety, depression, panic attacks, and anger management.

  • Compulsive & Unhealthy Behaviours: Substance use, dependence, and various compulsive patterns.

  • Grief & Life Transitions: Grief, loss, bereavement, and stress management.

  • Youth & Education: School refusal, bullying, learning difficulties, and working with young people in crisis (including self-harm and behavioural concerns).

  • Relational & Diversity: Parenting support, family therapy, and supporting sexuality and gender diversity.
