Senior Clinical Psychologist
Daniel is a warm, dedicated and experienced team member. He has been working in private practice for 7 years and has 8 years experience in both government and private practice.
Daniel works with both teens and adults and is experienced in helping people with general life stressors, depression, anxiety and mental health concerns that require a little more expertise such as post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder or personality disorders.
Daniel has worked with domestic violence offending treatment programs, prison counselling programs and workplace rehabilitation and injury management.
Daniel is committed to working in a client-centred and focused manner. He aims to assist his clients in living a meaningful and more valued life.
Daniel has significant experience in domestic violence and anger management programs in private practice and government settings.
Working with teens
He has provided clinical psychological services to Alta-1 school sites. His experience includes liaison with school staff and other healthcare practitioners. He can work with suicidal, bulling, self harm, self-esteem issues and more.
Workplace Injuries/ Work Cover/Criminal Injuries
Within the injury management and vocational rehabilitation area he has experience in assessment and co-ordination of return-to-work services. Daniel is also experienced with criminal injury reports and treatment.
Trauma and Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
Daniel has significant experience working with people experiencing PTSD or anxiety as the result of trauma.
Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA Counselling)
Daniel offers DVA counselling to Veterans that hold a DVA WHITE or GOLD card are entitled to around 10 government funded sessions per year with no financial cost to yourself. Gold Card Holders may have more sessions available to them. He has significant experience in individual counselling for veterans.
Daniel is on the committee of the Respect Life Office of the Perth Archdiocese, and regularly provides psychological services, training and seminars with CYM (Catholic Youth Ministry) of Perth. Daniel can work in a Catholic focused way.
Daniel is a dynamic psychologist trained in a wide range of therapies including mindfulness, cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, schema-focused therapy, person-centered therapy and existential psychology.
Do you need a referral to see Daniel Lazaroo?
No referral is needed to see Daniel. However with a referral from your GP (mental health care plan), you can claim a Medicare rebate of $124.50 per session.
If you choose not to use a plan you may be able to use your private health. To determine if you are eligible for a private health rebate, please contact your private health provider, as this is varies depending on your level of cover.
When is Daniel available for sessions?
Daniel is available at the practice Friday and Saturdays.
